SCOTT T. SMITH
Scott has been a full-time freelance photographer since 1988 when he quit his “real” job and he and his wife lived in their truck and a tent in the backcountry for a year while making photos.
He and his wife, Mary, spent six years building a strawbale house in Torrey, and now look out the windows and say, “Wow, we live here!”
His books include Utah: Wild and Scenic, Along Wyoming’s Continental Divide Trail, and Nevada: Magnificent Wilderness.
During his long drives to wild places across the country, he became fascinated by the derelict vehicles he saw stashed behind barns, next to corrals, and in back lots. He calls this collection of relics of the motor age the Dead Trucks series.
