Our great fortune of art material continues! This season we have had several little blockbuster showings of some familiar favorites and some new visual surprises as well.

Sadly, we began this spring with great sadness, losing dear friends to a very nasty random act of violence. Insulated as we feel in our community of lovers of the landscape, we were shocked to be reminded that along with our friendly, welcome visitors, there are those who pass this way who are very unwelcome. Our senses have been made keener, and our eyes are open wider. We miss our friends and hope that time passing will give us some help in healing.

In April, we were able to convince Bekka Anderson to hang her fine lino block prints on our wall even though she was in the midst of house building! Thank you again, Bekka. She graced our space with a demonstration as well so that everyone could learn how carving a block and printing with several colors actually happens. There are some great prints still available here in the Gallery.

May brought Bessann Swanson’s work to our show space, and it is a treat to see not only her watercolors, but how much hiking she has done. Yikes, you are one busy adventurer! You must come in to admire her petroglyph images and hiking discoveries.

In June it seemed time to enjoy some greenness. We are suffering badly from lack of water here, but my friend Larry Garber paints in North Carolina where it is so very verdant. He was kind enough to let me talk him into bringing his amazing pastel and colored pencil landscape drawings all the way from Raleigh, just so we could see some green earth! These have made a real splash in our space, so come enjoy-they will be up for a bit longer.

Fall will bring the Wasatch Camera Club, the Arts in the Park/Utah Watercolor Society painting and auction, and perhaps an exotic little surprise around November 2.💀 We will be wreath making in December as usual. Do stay in touch so you don’t miss anything!

Meanwhile, we are full of special work, and are here Friday-Sunday from 12-5. My mobile number is posted on the door, so feel free to text if you arrive for a visit any other day of the week-I am just minutes away.
