Susan has her roots in New England but has lived most of her life in the West. She is a self taught watercolor painter – with the help of adult education, books, persistence and membership in the Messy Palette Club.
Since 2012 she has been painting plein air and studio pieces from her Teasdale home in the high desert of South Central Utah. Her works are in private collections from East Coast to West Coast…and some in the middle.
Scenes of light and shadow, nooks and crannies, bends in the rivers, winding roads and pathways lead the artist into their mysteries. What at first appears quiet and still is really full of movement. Susan strives to capture these surprises in a loose and expressionistic way. With its own unpredictability, watercolor is the perfect medium to capture the ever changing dance of light on the solid seeming natural world.
Susan is a member of The Messy Palette Club (messypalette.club) and an award winning 2 star member of the Utah Watercolor Society.
